RE: BOBBY

• How tall was Bobby?

According to his first wife, Diane Garrett, he was "... about six feet tall, plus another half inch or so."

• Did Bobby like animals or have any pets?

Yes, Bobby was an animal lover and had a dog while he was married to Diane but no pets after that.

• What was his favorite color?

Powder blue. (No, this site wasn't redesigned in that color because of that. It was just a pleasant coincidence. :-)

RE: WEBSITE

• Why is there no detailed information about Bobby's family on the site?

Please keep in mind that this is a website dedicated to and about Bobby Van. Any information found here will pertain directly to Bobby or it will be omitted. Any information on family, friends or people Bobby worked with will only be included if it pertains to Bobby up until 1980 (with very few exceptions and at the webmaster's discretion). Personal information or contact information for Bobby's family will NEVER be included on this site for privacy reasons. Also, no emails or letters will be forwarded on. That is not the purpose of this website.

• Are you related to Bobby Van?

No.

• How can I know when updates are done to bobbyvan.net?

You may sign up for the newsletter. You'll find the form on the Updates page. Whenever updates are done or there are special announcements pertaining to Bobby, you will get an email. You can also be assured that your email address will NEVER be given to anyone and will only be used for the email newsletter. When you enter your email, it is stored in a private database that only the webmaster can view.

• How can I get copies of the photos you have on the site? Will you sell them to me?

All of the photos found at www.bobbyvan.net are from a private collection and are not for sale. Photos that are not in the private collection are used with permission and credited to those that were kind enough to loan them to this website.

• Why are some of the photos on the site so blurry?

Many of the images used on this site are from old (OLD) videos and in some cases are copies of copies, so the images are distorted. Since the TV shows from 30-50 years ago are rarely available as camera-made photos, it was decided that a blurry image was better than no image at all. As camera-made photos become available, they will replace any similar images taken from the videos.

• How can I get Bobby's movies, TV appearances or songs on tape, DVD or CDs?

For his films, there are several sources. You can try your local video stores or check online sites such as ebay.com, amazon.com, or video stores that sell or rent online. These sources are not endorsed by bobbyvan.net and are only suggestions as possible venues to obtain his videos or DVDs. As for his TV appearances, sadly, most were never made available for rent or sale and can only be found in private collections. However, "Wonder Woman - The Full First Season" is now available on VHS and DVD. His music is not easy to come by. Soundtracks for his stage plays, "On Your Toes" and "No, No, Nanette" can still be purchased. You may try the suggestions given for his films or music stores. "Small Town Girl," "The Affairs of Dobie Gillis," and "Skirts Ahoy!" never had soundtracks released and you can only get those songs from the videos. This also applies to most of his television appearances.

• Why did you start this website since Bobby's been dead nearly 25 years?

After several thorough searches on the Internet, it was found that there is relatively nothing about this fantastic performer on the web. While Bobby may no longer be with us physically, he still has many fans and so it was decided to give them a place where they could learn more about him.

• I found an error on your site or have information that you don't have about Bobby or his career. How do I get that to someone for inclusion on the site?

Any errors or info you'd like to send can be directed to: admin @ bobbyvan.net. Any submissions that are used will be given credit from those that have contributed (if that is desired). If you have a personal memory or experience that you'd like to share with fellow fans, you can send an email to: bobbymemories @ bobbyvan.net. If you have a copyright issue, please see the Copyright Page.

• I'd like to thank you for creating this site. How do I do that?

Comments, both good and bad, are always welcomed. You can send them by email to: admin @ bobbyvan.net or you can sign the guest book (found on each page of this site). If you sign the guest book and want a reply, you must leave an email address. Snail mail is not an option, sorry. Also, please do not leave personal information in the guest book. Personal information will be deleted.

This FAQ will be updated as more questions arise. Thank you.
