The
Kraft Music Hall did specials on all kinds of music. This
one, hosted by Rock Hudson, pays tribute to the "Hollywood
Musical." It also stars, Connie Stevens and Michelle
Lee. Bobby did a variety of song and dance numbers, along
with a skit that was a parody of the Mickey Rooney-Judy
Garland musicals where kids put on their own shows and big
Broadway producers see them and make them famous. There
is also a very nice medley of all of the Academy Award winning
songs up until that time period done by all of the stars.
(Why Rock Hudson was chosen to host is a mystery. He can
not sing or dance but, to be fair, he does make a passable
and genuine attempt at both.)
This
first set of pictures is from the first dance routine that
Bobby does.
